Privacy Policy — Sidekick UI

Effective date: October 26, 2026. Developer contact: ghrs.dev@gmail.com.

Sidekick UI is a floating sidebar for Android that keeps notes, to-do tasks, clipboard items, bookmarks, voice notes, reminders, a calculator, and timers within reach from any app. This policy explains what the app stores, what it sends to third-party services, and what it never sends anywhere.

1. Your content stays on your device

Everything you create in Sidekick UI — notes, tasks, clipboard items you explicitly paste, bookmarks you save, voice recordings, reminders, and timers — is stored locally on your device only (in the app's on-device database and, for voice recordings, the app's private storage). Your content is never uploaded to a developer server, never synced to an account, and never sold. There is no account, no sign-in, and no developer-operated server behind this app.

Deleting content in the app removes it from the device, including a voice note's audio file. "Delete all data" in Config removes all notes, tasks, clipboard items, bookmarks, voice notes, and reminders at once. Clipboard items you do not pin are also pruned automatically (kept to the 100 newest, or 30 days, whichever comes first). Uninstalling the app removes all of its local data.

2. Firebase Analytics

The app uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand anonymous, aggregate usage — for example, which features are used and whether the app crashes. Firebase Analytics may collect an app-instance identifier, device information, and approximate usage data as described in Google's own privacy documentation. It does not receive the content of your notes, tasks, clipboard items, bookmarks, voice recordings, reminders, or timers.

3. Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM)

The app uses Firebase Cloud Messaging only to receive occasional broadcast announcements (a single general topic). No account is required, and the developer does not store or track your messaging token. If you turn off the app's notifications in your device settings, announcements stop — and reminder and timer alerts will not appear either (your reminders and timers themselves still exist in the app).

4. Permissions

Sidekick UI requests only the permissions it needs to function:

The app does not request access to your contacts, location, camera, or other apps' data, and it does not get broad access to your files. Microphone access is requested only when you choose to record a voice note; recordings are stored on your device only and are deleted together with the voice note. Clipboard content is read only when you explicitly tap "Paste from clipboard"; the app never monitors the clipboard in the background. Reminders and timers are scheduled and fired entirely on your device; no reminder or timer data leaves the device.

5. Advertising

Sidekick UI does not currently display third-party advertisements and does not integrate an advertising SDK. No advertising identifier is used by the app itself; the advertising identifier that may appear in the app's Play listing declarations comes from the Firebase SDKs described above.

6. Data sharing

Other than the Firebase services described in sections 2 and 3 (operated by Google under Google's privacy policy), your data is not shared with any third party, with one exception: bookmark favicons. To show a site's icon next to a bookmark, the app asks Google's favicon service for the icon of that bookmark's domain only (for example, example.com). The full bookmark URL, page content, and your other data are never sent for this. The developer does not sell personal data and does not use your content for advertising.

7. Children

Sidekick UI is available to users aged 13 and over. It is not directed at children under 13, and the developer does not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.

8. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that affects what the app collects or shares, the updated policy will be posted here with a new effective date. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
